Alpha Hearing is accredited by the Australian Government and the Office of Hearing Services to provide free hearing aids and services to eligible pensioners and veterans/DVA cardholders under the Commonwealth Hearing Services Program.
As of March 2014, the Commonwealth Government has introduced a more streamlined method for people wishing to access the Hearing Services Program.
In the past, doctors needed to sign a green Application for Hearing Services Voucher form, which would then be mailed to Canberra. This form is no longer required. Instead, an online portal has been introduced. As an accredited provider, Alpha Hearing can apply for government hearing services for your patient online using the portal.
Before hearing services can be provided, your patient will need you to sign and complete a medical certificate form for them.
A copy of this form can be accessed here.
When your patient has a copy of the referral form above and attends our clinic, we can provide virtually instant access to the Hearing Services Program, and a Hearing Services Voucher can be issued on the spot. A written report will be sent to you as the referring doctor, ensuring you are kept informed.
If you would like further information regarding the new referral pathway or on how your patient’s can access the Government Hearing Services Program, please feel free to give us a ring.
Please feel free to download an electronic copy of our Audiology Referral pad here.
If you suspect you have a hearing loss, call Alpha Hearing on 9807 3007 and book a hearing test. If you already have hearing aids and would like to change providers, call Alpha Hearing and book a free consultation with one of our audiologists.
We can provide you with the information, advice and care you require on the spot and free of charge as part of the Government Hearing Services Program.
We can help you access the program and find the best service provider within the program. The Government Hearing Services Program opens up a wide range of services to you and most of them are free-of-charge.
